ArtworkNaturally, my work is for sale... I've only got so much storage space in my room!
I have never before dedicated so much time to my artwork, so this is a very interesting time of artistic development for me. I am planning my exhibition calender for 2008 and onwards so if you have exhibition suggestions or opportunities, please contact me.
Portraits and CommissionsMy work has always had a natural leaning to the figurative and live subject matter, so my skills and interest translate easily into portraiture. I have a fascination in capturing an expression and that ‘particular’ moment, and with an accurate eye and good drawing skills, I can create expressive and alive portraits.
If you wish to commission an artwork, collect together a few photographs of your desired subject. I work primarily from photos. It is best to have a good quality image with good light and plenty of detail for the optimum art work. With blurry or dark photos, I can only make an impression of the subject (that may not be what you want!) There are many possibilities and variations, so, by all means contact me for further discussion.
To commission an artwork:My commission rates start at 260€ for a single subject portrait in pencil, ink or watercolour. For an oil on canvas, prices start at 550€. Oil paintings are generally bigger and take a bit longer because of drying times. These prices do not include framing or postage and packing.
Materials: I use quality cotton rag watercolour paper and ‘light fast’ watercolour paint (most often Windsor & Newton or equiv). Note; watercolour paintings should never be hung in direct sunlight, as they will fade despite the use of lightfast paint.
For oil painting, I use cotton duck canvas with a traditional priming method (i.e. they are handmade, not ready made canvases)
